Lyrics here...

One fire was out and another one was burning
Isolated at night kept me tossing and turning
I was craving the company of the weaker vessels
Just me and my shadows by ourselves left to nestle

Only the weakest goes to the wall, I used as my excuse
When I was
jostled by the servant delivering the news
An invitation to The Grand Ball is what he delivered to me
A Special guest of the King’s and I would pay no fee

I arrived ahead of time but to my surprise not on the list
Disconcert in the moment hoping for someone to assist
One of the King’s horsemen had noticed me from a far
He escorted me in; from there on I was treated as a czar

A good candle-holder proves a worthy risk taker
But The Ball tried its hand as a good matchmaker
I noticed her in the corner but kept my distance
She smiled at me to acknowledge my existence

After making her rounds, she touched my hand
I reached in and kissed her as if it were all planned
She then embraced me again as her knees shook
Gently she whispered to me, you kiss by the book
